Okay so I'm writing this post for my bro. And no I did not get his permission. :)
I don't think he'll mind, especially if it leads to something!

My brother, Alexander McLean Glass, goes by Alec. He is 29.
His birthday is April 18, 1982.
He probably wouldn't willingly admit to this, but he really is looking for a special someone to settle down with.
He is handsome, tall (like 6'3 or something), and a strong believer. He will make an awesome head of the household one day.
He is wickedly funny and always willing to try new things.
He has a heart for ministry but is currently working in a bar. Ha, go figure. He loves the conversations it brings.
He is living in Seattle right now but is looking into moving to Colorado to maybe pursue teaching.
He has a degree in engineering from Colorado State and is super smart but engineering just wasn't what he wanted to do. He did it cause he has the brain for it but he's much more of people person. He worked as a mentor sort of for college students in Montana and with the Navigators in Colorado. He's just looking for a reason to settle down somewhere. :)
He communicates best through written word, so if you're an emailer he'd love that.
He loves anything outdoors. So must be willing to hike, camp, bike, etc.
He likes brunettes but not required, and I know looks do matter to him (lets be honest ladies) but he loves a woman that can be outdoorsy with him and not worry about her looks and makeup. He does not like a girly girl I don't think.
Hmmm, what else girls?
Oh he loves loves loves kids. And he may not say so but he is SO GOOD with them. He loves his 3 nieces so much.

It's completely out of character for me to broadcast myself, but what do I have to lose? :) I'm a 29 year old NON girly-girl living in Portland, OR. I love hiking and camping, but my most favorite outdoor activity is running! She is amazing with kids and loves my two boys who happen to have disabilities! She travels with her church and has served in China, India and Africa the past few years. She has such a giving spirit and loves her 8 soon to be 9 nieces and nephews! She has her master's degree in counseling and right now she counsels children and their families. So funny--I just saw your post on Kelly's blog and couldn't figure out why your brother looks familiar. Then I realized that your brother, who I met recently, is friends with my good friends! Such a small world! Hope he finds the perfect person for him!

ReplyDeleteHey, what an AWESOME sister to do this for her brother. My name is Violet, brown hair, brown eyes, and around 5'2". I'm working on enrolling in the last 5 classes for my BA in Psychology and am researching masters programs. I'm also becoming more in love with working out in a variety of ways and nutrition. It's very out of character for me to respond to something like this but, I thought for once, I'd give it a try. I'm going to be 25 in just a few days. I LOVE hiking, camping, anything out doors. The occasional make up or dress up is fun too though. I love kids and animals, and have a heart for missions and orphans. I love Christ with all my heart, and believe he will lead me down the right path. Born in Marysville, Washington, I moved to Northern California a year go just for a new adventure, and I spend lots of time hiking, rock climbing, river swimming, snow shoeing and other outdoorsy things. I'm open to another move if/when the time is right and God opens the doors. But my goal, is to be an amazing home maker, Mommy, wife, and all. ReplyDeleteA friend directed me to this page after reading about your brother. I have read your description of him and feel that we have a lot in common. I am currently in Kansas but plan to relocate to Colorado in the near future. I enjoy staying active through running, biking, hiking, skiing or really any outdoor activities. I am active in my church and excited to be starting a new adventure with the children’s Sunday school this month. I was a little nervous about commenting on this (this is very atypical behavior for me), but then I figured I might as well give it a shot...God works in mysterious ways. ReplyDeleteOk so, I just had to comment on this post because I think Alec might be a great fit for my roommate! Her name is Kim and she is a CO native currently living in Northern CO. She just turned 25 and also just finished her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology...her undergrad is from CU but don't hold that against her! She is absolutely amazing. She loves Jesus with her whole heart and seeks after Him daily. She is funny, caring, beautiful, smart and so much fun to be with. She LOVES to be outside more than anyone else I know...(camping/hiking/backpacking, running, biking, skiing [a new adventure], and is good at pretty much all sports [except golf]). My blog has some pictures of her but facebook has way more. Let me know if you think they would be a good match and I can send more pics your way! (Also, I have a mutual friend that went to CSU with Alec and spoke very highly of him!)

ReplyDeleteWell...I, like others before me thought..."why not?" I am 29 and currently living in Seattle. I love all the activities that our area has to offer, and especially love the summers in Seattle. So many things to do outdoors! I attend church in Redmond WA, where I have a fantastic church family and participate in local outreach. My job keeps me in front of and leading people everyday, and I relish in the opportunity to meet new people. This fall, my first nephew is arriving - and I could not BE more excited! Last but not least, I do love putting on a dress and curling my hair :) If that's not too scary for your brother, I'd love the chance to email him - he sounds great! I realize I'm a little late in the game, but is your brother still available? I'm guessing with all the interest your post generated, it's iffy. But, like him, I am also a strong believer in fate (or karma or whatever you want to call it), which led me to this post.
ReplyDeleteHe looks pretty great, I'd say a 7.5 out of 10 maybe? I'm glad to hear he's 6'3''. Being 6'2'', it's often hard to find guys who are taller than me! I think we'd share some similar values too. I love college students and Montana, since that's where I went to school. I currently live in Colorado and love to hike...mostly easy, paved trails though. Does he live here now?
I'm glad to hear he loves kids. I have two girls from a previous marriage. I'd be more than happy to share details about that. Most guys are scared off by that, but it sounds like it wouldn't be a problem for him and he'd be a great dad according to these pictures.
Admittedly, I'm a bit girly. It's a high priority for me to feel special as a single mom. I especially love having clean, styled hair (mine is brunette). Does Alec wash his often?
Maybe some of this is TMI, but I'd rather be open upfront. I'm ready to stop playing games and settle down. I'd be glad to pass my info and picture onto your brother if he is interested/still single. Thanks.
